Al Reem began as a Biomedical Engineering service provider in 1981. Over the decades, our management team and certified healthcare engineering professionals successfully integrated the latest technologies and healthcare innovations in hospitals throughout the UAE, especially the Government hospitals of the Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The pinnacle of our achievement is the award of the $150 Million turnkey engineering contract for the new, state of the art New Al Ain Hospital, in 2020. The hospital has a capacity of 719 beds, 104 advanced specialized clinics, 17 radiology rooms as well as 22 specialized operation theatres.

History

Hospital enablement experts offering various healthcare facilities since 1981

Al Reem Hospico provides technical solutions to healthcare facilities in the UAE. Focusing on the needs of our client hospitals, we impact better health outcomes and safer environments.

In April 1990, Al Reem Hospico Co. was established as a joint venture between Al Reem General Trading (UAE) and Hospitalia International Ltd (UK). Our journey commenced with the awarding of a comprehensive contract for Tawam Hospital covering Construction Biomedical, Electro-Mechanical and Civil Engineering services during the period from April 1990 to October 1994. Al Reem Hospico began its operations under the sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Al Ain based Nayel & Bin Harmal Group that was established in 1979. Some of the prominent entities in the group include Emirates International Hospital, Abu Dhabi University, Nayel Bin Harmal Constructions, Liwa International Schools and Magna Investments.

Based in Al Ain, the garden city of the Abu Dhabi Emirate (UAE), Al Reem has grown over the decades, from strength to strength and with one successful project to another. Today, Al Reem is proud to be one of the largest Biomedical and Electro-Mechanical hospital engineering service contractor in the country, serving the maintenance needs of several prestigious hospitals in the UAE. Our team of over 750 engineers and technicians, supported by a robust logistics system, paired with our knowledge support system; is our core strength.

We have an active sales and projects division that complements our expertise in engineering, while the products and solutions we offer brings us a unique advantage of an integrated solutions provider. We have deep insights beyond the acquisition and commissioning process that extends to the life cycle management of complex engineering systems and equipment. Our knowledge and understanding of healthcare systems uniquely qualify us to advise our clients in planning, commissioning and maintenance of hospital facilities including medical equipment. A message from the MD

During the early 80’s Al Reem partnered with Whitaker Medical USA, in Tawam Hospital. 1985, we partnered and sponsored Charter Medical USA in their very first venture in the Middle East, with operations in Ruwais Hospital in the western region of Abu Dhabi and their contract with Tawam Hospital. Our foundations were cemented, in hospital engineering services, when partnered with the German Company, Klaus Hofmann in the late 80’s which was the steppingstone for what followed.

Al Reem Hospico was established in 1990 under the sponsorship of His Highness Shaikh Saeed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, as a Hospital Engineering Services Company. In the same year we were awarded, by the Abu Dhabi Financial Department, our very first major facilities management contract for Tawam Hospital, for a period of 2 years which was subsequently extended for a period of 5 years. The organization grew up very early facing huge challenging tasks in a very prestigious, state of the art and one of the most well-equipped hospitals for acute sickness and disease in the Gulf Region, Tawam Hospital, Al Ain.

It is worth mentioning that Tawam hospital, with about 600 beds and a medical team of highly qualified staff from 45 different nationalities, was managed since its inauguration in 1981 by renown international management companies such as Whitaker Medical and Charter Medical from the USA and Klaus Hofmann from Germany. This environment enabled the growth of Al Reem Hospico with many of our managers, engineers and technicians inheriting invaluable experience and know-how from an early stage. These roots contributed immensely to our present team of more than 750 managers, engineers, supervisors and technicians back by a robust procurement and logistics team.

In recognition of our commitment to quality AL Reem Hospico has been consistently accredited to ISO 9001 since 2004 and OSHAS 18001:2007. We also hospitals and health facilities with their accreditation, compliance with the regulations of HAAD, DHA and MOH procedures and undertake compliance consultancy and contracting for JCI accreditation.

We now have added a suite of products and services that complement our competencies in Biomedical and Hospital Engineering Services. We have also commenced our sales and consulting divisions that complement our capabilities in engineering. While we are celebrating our 40th year of operation, I am proud to announce that we have grown to a level of 80% of market share in our field of operation.

Growth of ARH to the market leader stature was achieved as a result of continuous and unwavering search for excellence with a strong priority on getting our basics right in all we do. We strongly believe that achieving excellence is a continuous process and that our customers’ experience is the key to our success. We follow our passion for excellence and keep the process simple. We attempt changes before we are forced to and believe that our future depends on what we do, today.

Our core strength is our 750 plus world class engineers and technicians. Our expertise is not only in Construction, Biomedical, MEP and Healthcare Engineering alone but also in the turnkey equipping of medical equipment as well as MEP Systems like Medical Gas Systems, Pneumatic Tubing Systems, Modular Operation Theatres, Cleanroom Pharmacy Solutions and Robotic Pharmacy Systems. In addition, ARH is one of the leading suppliers of Mobile Hospitals, Mobile Imaging and Laboratory Clinics and Mobile Decontamination Trailers. We currently represent over 40 International Brands and Multinational Manufacturers as their exclusive partners and distributors in UAE and GCC market.
